Friday of last week, TUINS was visited by Tazuko McLaren sensei of sister university, Southern Cross University (SCU) Lismore, Australia.
McLaren sensei is instrumental in promoting cross cultural understanding, and strong links between Australia and Japan. For many years she has coordinated the Japan Centre at SCU, and a very successful language exchange program. She frequently visits Japan, her home country, promoting the connection between the two countries.
Last week McLaren sensei joined us at TUINS English Cafe where many students enjoyed talking with her. This year some TUINS students will join the SCU program, and they had the opportunity to speak with McLaren sensei. She also met and spoke with many other students about Lismore, SCU, and the value of studying abroad. We were very lucky to meet with her, and all had a wonderful time together!
I hope that in the future many TUINS students will take the opportunity to participate in the SCU exchange program, and also consider studying abroad.
